by S. Landess on 8/20/2008 3:10pm This is a cult classic song from The Toadies "Rubberneck" album. It is a song about obsession and his fear of rejection. It is not about rape, however. A lot of the "Rubberneck" album is dark and is based on Todd Vaden Lewis' relationships. Toadies disbanded and Vaden started a new band called The Burden Brothers, and "Tyler" was frequently requested to play but obviously the band would not. It is in my mind The Toadies best song ever. One of my top 3 songs ever.

"poured myself a beer" Almost a perfect lovesong, if it weren't for the dark undertones. But nonetheless a perfect song...Toadies at their best...best 45 minute album in the era. Pure genius.

by SB on 12/19/2008 7:37am I used to go watch them in the dive bar of all dive bars called The Crossing. It was in the darkest part of Fort Worth, and was actually BYOB. They rocked. I always thought this song was about rape, but I thought it said "I stumbled into her way," not hallway, so my bad.
