God this shit is funny. So just so you all know, this song is about an old story the singer heard about a lake by his house in Texas. Someone above had stated that nowhere in the interviews do they mention vampires, but they actually say specificlly that it is NOT about vampires. Then they laugh at you stupid f*cks that made the idea so popular that someone asked them about it in an interview.

The cops looked up the name, and the only match that came up was a guy that committed suicide in a boathouse a few years earlier.
When the cops went to the boathouse, the girl's body was there. She committed suicide as well.

Imo, it sounds like a rapist. There's such things as hyperboles and metaphors. If not, he's singing as someone who is mentally unstable/obsessed, regardless of whether or not he's a serial killing, raping, and whatever else shit you can come up with that's creepy, vampire. Meaning, he will always see her as "beautiful." Or maybe, he's flattering her because he's obsessed and wants to (obviously) do some freaky shit with her, so he's promising things that would, in any case, be impossible but would make her happy. I don't know, going through the song just seems like a rape scene to me, with how he tries to keep his cool, come across as reasonable, sweet and gentle, only to lose it at the very end with "Do you want to die?" a million times.
