He wrote the smash "Mama Told Me(Not To Come" for Three Dog Night. "I was never crazy about tunes," Newman confessed. "The song is about a fool at a party, that's all. I don't think it would be a hit." Among his movie soundtrack gigs were: Paranthood , Three Amigos , The Natural , and the Oscar-nominated Ragtime. (Newman also co-wrote the screenplay for Three Amigos and had a big part in it. He played a singing bush!) He also scored several national TV commercials for such clients as Dr. Pepper, Nike, Nutrasweet, and Apple computers.

Hating another for being another race, or for having a different way of living. If you can hate people for that why not for being short. I mean that makes just as much sense.
