Its not annoying, its just a simple song, remember this is when he found god and this was after his breakup with wendy and lisa from his band and with wendys twin sister susannah, he was really in love with her and they ended their relationship before he did this song. I truly believe this song is for the three of them, if not just for susannah, I think he's thanking them all for their love even when he was a jerk.

i love this song. you could easly fall alseep and just dream away. prince is just great at making songs. i wish u heavan is one of them i think he means he really wishes for us to have peace. at least its' not called I WISH U HELL =).
