The Keeper Of The Stars Lyrics

Artist: Tracy Byrd
Album: Keepers

It was no accident me finding you
Someone had a hand in it
Long before we ever knew
Now I just can't believe you're in my life
Heaven's smilin' down on me
As I look at you tonight

I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars
He sure knew what he was doin'
When he joined these two hearts
I hold everything
When I hold you in my arms
I've got all I'll ever need
Thanks to the keeper of the stars

Soft moonlight on your face oh how you shine
It takes my breath away
Just to look into your eyes
I know I don't deserve a treasure like you
There really are no words
To show my gratitude

So I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars
He sure knew what he was doin'
When he joined these two hearts
I hold everything
When I hold you in my arms
I've got all I'll ever need
Thanks to the keeper of the stars

It was no accident me finding you
Someone had a hand in it
Long before we ever knew

This was the first song a man ever "dedicated" to me in my 39 years of life. It became "our" song. At our wedding with our children ages 16, 15, & 14 present, it was our comittment to each other. It is still the glue that bonds us together today....13 years later. Who says "love is for the young"? At 63 and 52, my husband and I are soul mates, we finish each other's sentences, and think each other's thoughts. We truly believe that God brought us together at a certain time to make each other's life come full circle. And it has. God Bless all the believer's in faith, love, tomorrow, and forever

My mother started a tradition with her children; she gave us each a song before or soon after we were born. Since I was the 2nd born of 3, I had a good chance of getting a nice song. The song I was chosen for....was this one.

I love this song so much...it means a lot to me and my mother, and I think Tracy Byrd had a great message behind these lyrics.

This song was my parents wedding song. Without knowing when my bf heard it, he immediately thought it shud be our song and we listened to it together while dancing at a bar, months later at the same scene, he purposed and it became our wedding song as well. It was a shock to my parents that we had the same song and mom started crying. It's a very special song to us.
by Starla on 4/4/2010 6:42pm

When this song came out, my husband heard it first. He asked if I heard it yet and I said no. He said you have to hear it and listen to the words. You see my husband was a blind date and we married less than 1 and 1/2 months later. He is now deceased and we were married just short of 47 years. I cry everytime I hear "Keeper of the Stars". But, I do love the song and reminds me of the love of my life - - my darling husband !! Thanks for such a lovely song. May God bless.

I met someone on a business trip in August of this year. We have talked everyday since then and found out a year ago we were in the same conference at the same time and never met. We are both going through a rough time in our lives and we heard this song and knew that it was meant for us. We both believe that we were brought together for a reason and now I love him with all my heart and soul and I'm glad that someone was watching over us to bring us together! We both love this song and it will play at our wedding!

I met my boyfriend a few monthes ago and we have been trying to find a song to call ours for a while now. We love each other so much and I really feel I will spend my life with him. My husband and I have been married since 2001 but we were lucky enough to have two weddings, the first by the justice of the peace and the second in 2002 by the church. I spent a lot of time searching for the perfect song and when I came across this song I knew it was "the one"

I grew up in CT and he grew up in TX, but yet somehow we met and fell in love. We knew the "Keeper of the stars" had it planed long before we ever knew. :) LOVE this song.

by Jen on 10/2/2012 7:04pm
This was our wedding song in 1997. Whenever I hear it on the radio I text my honey that it's on the radio & add a XO. It's such a beautiful song. The overall theme of God having an obvious hand in uniting a couple is similar to Rascal Flatts' "God Bless The Broken Road."
by Tom Cushing on 11/6/2012 2:43am
I'd like to hear it sing by other vocalists and different arrangements.
by Dee on 11/10/2012 10:04am
As many others have shared, this song was played at our handfasting. We met via a phone call, spoke frequently for a week before our first date and have been together from that day on. That was 13 years ago. In our late 40s and we both knew we had each finally found 'the one'.
by leora on 12/16/2012 10:51pm
Your song is perfect for us, it says everything a song should say for 2 people falling in love. If we get married that is going to be our special song that we will dance first. Thank you.

I have loved this song from the first day I heard it. I met a guy that I thought was "The One". We dated for only 3 weeks. Then he said he thought we were moving too fast and he wanted a break for a while. That 'break' lasted 3 years. The Keeper of the Stars did know what he was doing. We are back together and have been married for 8 years. Thank you Tracy Byrd for a beautiful song.
by Roxane on 11/4/2013 12:44pm

if this song wasn't so long, I would have had it printed on my husband's grave stone, because it is the truest words ever written about my marriage.

I love this song. This tells the love story of our life. It means so much because I lost the love of my life 8 yrs ago. Every time I hear it, it makes me cry a good cry, remembering the great times we had. A beautiful song. Thank you Tracy.

I dedicated this song to my daughter Taylor when she was just weeks old and the song first came out 23 years ago. The words were just as true to and from my heart to hers back then as they are today. and so on this day I dedicate it to her once again, THANKS TO THE KEEPER OF THE STARS. I LOVE YOU TAYLOR!! Never forget that, Never EVER doubt that. With all my heart I LOVE YOU
