I've always loved this song. When my daughter was ten years old (she's now 27 years old), she wrote lyrics for a commercial, using the tune of "Claudette". I got copyrights from you, the Everly Brothers, but was denied adamantly by Roy Orbison's widow, when I asked for permission to use it for a commercial, since it was Roy Orbison who WROTE the song. I wrote her for permission to use it and she wrote back refusing me permission to use it. My daughter and I were extremely disappointed, because we KNOW it would have been a really cute commercial.

Although I've always liked this song, I could never work out what the Everly's were singing in the first part. Now, after 50 years I know they were singing 'an I'm plumb outa breath', and 'I'm gonna squeeze her to death' My guesses never came close!

this is such an awesome song. i met this guy last saturday and he chose the name "claudette" to be my nickname, because of this song. now i feel special. *.* lol

I never heard this song before. Now I know why I could have old and new! I guess God intended for me to be alive here on this earth! Amen! I am the old and new and I will have restraunt called "Claudette". I'm African American not French and Irish or Latino.Remember that!

I heard this song when I was little. It's a little goofy but love it...and hated my name when I was younger, but now that I am older, I love it
