Revolution Lyrics
Artist: The Beatles
Album: The White Album
You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right
You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We're doing what we can
But when you want money
for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right
Ah
ah, ah, ah, ah, ah...
You say you'll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well, you know
You better free you mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
all right, all right
all right, all right, all right
all right, all right, all right

I love this song because it's so applicable to the here and now as well as then. It's a revolutionary song in itself. A massive amount of emotion and personal effort went into it and it shows.

Revolution? Change the Constitution? There is non so blind as he who will not see.
Johnny got it right. Can't you idiots see what's in front of your face. The Beetle's knew it then and Obama knows it now. wake up America!!!!!
this is a really great and one of many great song that beatles sing
beetles rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The song was inspired by the Vietnam War and the student movements around the world in 1968. In The Beatles song "Revolution", has a reference to Mao in the lyrics, "But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao, they ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow", this means that many radicals like Lula, Che, Felipe Calderón, and Díaz Ordaz, carrying pictures of Mao, and they dig against communism.
Has anyone noticed that this song is basically an anti-violence, anti-Marxist/anti-Communist song. That's what makes it outstanding! It seems that those from the '60s who are in charge now within the Congress have strayed to the far left, which is something that this song tells people NOT to do.
i like pizza
This song is great, and it inspired an even greater one; the best of all time: The Who's Won't Get Fooled Again
Sarah Palin: take heed and put done your self-portrait
You forgot the question mark on the part where it says, "Don't you know that you can count me out?"
Yall are all creepy
hahahaha what about cheese?
viva le beatles
I know the Beatles revolutionized music. But they are terrible. There's no musicality or anything. Tone sucks
this is a song which inspires even a junkie to work in the right direction...
beatles are awesome... Touchd heart
Tha beatles were and are an amazing group anyone says dif. Is a freakin idiot an doesnt really know good music when they hear it!!
You got that right Ellie. And the occupy group should also read and understand the song.
Ellie you are absolutely right the song while not condemning revolution does point out that violent and communism are not roads to change but destruction.
Beatles are ok!
We need this song now with the elections and the Occupy Movement. Please, someone, bring out a boombox or start singing it to these people.
Great way to introduce conflict!
beatles. i like you!!! h...hahahaha
LoVe ThIs SoNg!!!:)
absolutly love this song...plan on singing it for school talent show just cause itz AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the beatles!! Music isn't music anymore=( I wish bands would play real music like the beatles!
i have to create a song based on this song for world history.
the is communist
Did we ever know that Bill Ayres and the, "weather underground" and black panthers and all the other radicals of the time of the 60's went to Lennon to get him on board to take down America and riot because they were the most influential music group in the world and instead of going along with it, he told them he would have to think about it and then proceeded to write this song...it was the END of the radical movement as Lennon in his lyrics tells his feelings and Bill Ayres must have been livid when this came out....Ever wonder now about the assassination of Lennon???????
What killed Lennon was a ratbag country; full of guns, & nuts, & gun-nuts...& it's worse now than it was then!
I dont hate their ideas or lyrics, but they sound awful, their lyrics always have meaning but the sound is a piece of crap
