by Anna L Bates on 5/30/2008 1:51pm I bought Revolver the week it arrived in my home town. Since then, I have listened to it thousands of times. I have never, ever understood this song. When I was very young, I thought the song had a cynical tone about it, and thought it must be about an obnoxious doctor. Now I'm not sure. I've had many ideas over the years -- and have gotten up at night to listen again to see whether any of my new interpretations panned out. None have. So, I suppose I'll never know. Great album, though.
by Rob on 2/9/2009 11:12am Dr Robert (whose surname I've forgotten) was a real doctor in the USA who supplied drugs to rock musicians and who was eventually arrested.
