Stevie.......the best poet writer and singer of all time who as one poet to another "I KNOW OF THE PAIN THAT WAS FELT IN LIVING and WRITING THIS SONG. My girlfriend and I of 10 years just split up, and as I listen to this... I now wonder which was the beauty and which was the beast. She was my soulmate... My love... My life. Sometimes you have to realize that even you can't solve your own loves battles within. I tried for so long. 10 years took all of me and it still wasn't enough . I wish her well and all the love I have.

To Stephanie- I'm so sorry for your pain. I have experienced the same thing but on the other end of the scale. He never gave me the chance...he could not see the beauty within himself that I could see. I believe I did fall in his shadow, old child that he is..so blind, so beautiful, such a prisoner in disguise. Hard to say who was beauty who was beast....Love's best to you

i sat in my car a cried, as i listened to this song, Stevie. You sang into my soul. i am the beast, and, after several decades, she's leaving. As kids, when it all began, i think we were "in love" with love. i, at least, didn't know what love was. It's taken me years, and i'm not sure if i even know what it is now. But can you love someone so much that you desperatly want them happy, and the only way she can be happy is to let her go and pray that she finds that man who can give her what she wants/needs?

I fell in love with Stevie Nicks right out of Fleetwood Mac. There are so many songs that I can personally relate to. When I purchased "Enchanted" I was hit with this song and many others that spoke to me. I am thankful for her voice and talent that is a blessing. -Jason Gagnon (Watervliet, NY)

My brother & I use to listen to this song years ago. He was gay and for some reason this song reminds me of his life and the ups & downs of being gay. My brother died Feb. 19th it will be 3 years & I still miss him a lot. Thank you for this song there's something about it!!!

This is a love song to no other than Lucifer, the Devil. In the bible, Satan is also known as "the beast". Other attributes contained in the lyrics indicate this as well. "...lives in a world that is not mine", "An 'old' child..out of time", and "Timeless Creature". The songs Gate and Garden and Sable on Blond is also about Satan and probably the rest of the album. The music industry is controlled by Satan, there are plenty of videos about this fact if you search.

A friend of mine burned some old songs for me. When I heard this I was working on the laptop. I just stopped and stared at the speakers. It left me breathless and tears in my eyes. Ever since Stevie did Songbird, her voice is at the pinnacle of my favourite singer / songwriters. This is a magical piece of music and will be close for always. As for the comments of "Nobody"on 9/6/12...well, just get a life, stop thinking too deeply and enjoy the moment. In fact, you should do yourself and everyone around a favour and stop thinking altogether.

This is the most heart felt song and it still makes me cry, I used this song for my wedding 26 years ago on valentines day in our living room, i came down the isle to this song and danced our first dance to it too and when he passed away 10 years ago i had it played during the wake.

Stevie, no one on earth would be able to sing this song the way you do. You truly make the song come alive. I believe you first sung this in 2006 and it is 2014. But this is a timeless masterpiece that will never grow old. You are a beautiful lady.

This song sounds so satanic! It’s mesmerizing bc satan is the king of music! It’s like being under a spell listening to this and the “beast” is Lucifer 🙄😳Stevie can say what she wants but this is none other than a love song to a DEMON that hates her hates all mankind and I wish she would realize this and GROW UP!! Her soul depends on it!!!! Satan comes to kill steal and destroy! He hates every and everyone! I would not use the beautiful gift God gave me to write songs about satan😦😦🙄🙄
