Hello Mary Lou Lyrics

Artist: Ricky Nelson
Album: Hello Mary Lou

Hello Mary Lou
CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL
(G. Pitney)

You passed me by one sunny day
Flashed those big brown eyes my way
And oo I wanted you forever more
Now I'm not one that gets around
I swear my feet stuck to the ground
And though I never did meet you before

Chorus:
I said "Hello Mary Lou
Goodbye heart
Sweet Mary Lou
I'm so in love with you
I knew Mary Lou
We'd never part
So Hello Mary Lou
Goodbye heart"

I saw your lips I heard your voice
believe me I just had no choice
Wild horses couldn't make me stay away
I thought about a moonlit night
My arms about good an' tight
That's all I had to see for me to say

Chorus

Hey! In my country Marlou is like a form of Mary Lou, so I guess I can claim this song for my own a bit too! I think every girl should have a love song with her name in it, it's always nice, even if it isn't really about you.

I was in a pub one Thursday night in Leeds where I was a graduate student and a live country music band played Hello Mary Lou. I heard it before in the 1960s. But Wow!The banjo was quite enrapturing that night (of course with a few pints down). Can't forget it
