Vera Lyrics
Artist: Pink Floyd
Album: The Wall
Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn
Remember how she said that
We would meet again
Some sunny day
Vera! Vera!
What has become of you
Does anybody else in here
Feel the way I do ?

Comments/Interpretations
This is my favourite song!
I always thought it was Vera Layden?
Well, you thought wrong - but for that you'll have to get in line, eh? Read the late George McDonald Fraser's "Quartered Safe Out Here" (about serving in Burma - but with a refreshing take on political correctness and societal generation gaps, media...) Good stuff.
favortie song of all times:]
Dont think ive ever heard a song which has more emotion in such few words.
So what ever happened to Vera Lynn? Did they ever meet again some sunny day?
I met Vera lynn and she touched my leg
Vera Lynn was a popular English song writer and recording artist during World War 2. She was famous for a song called "We'll Meet Again" which was an optimistic song that reassured service men that they would be eventually reunited with their loved ones after the war is over. The song coveys so much emotion on The Wall soundtrack because Pink's father is killed in fighting and never reunites with Pink. He's recalling Vera Lynn's song wistfully because what it promised never came to pass for him.
