Juniors Farm Lyrics

Artist: Paul McCartney

Junior's Farm
Paul McCartney & Wings

You should have seem me with the poker man
I had a honey and I bet a grand
Just in the nick of time I looked at his hand
I was talking to an Eskimo
Said he was hoping for a fall of snow
When up popped a sea lion ready to go

Chorus
Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go
Down to Junior's Farm where I wanna lay low
Low life, high life, oh let's go
Take me down to Junior's Farm

At the Houses of Parliament
Ev'rybody's talking 'bout the President
We all chip in for a bag of cement
Ollie Hardy should have had more sense
He bought a gee-gee and he jumped the fence
All for the sake of a couple of pence

Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go
Down to Junior's Farm where I wanna lay low
Low life, high life, oh let's go
Take me down to Junior's Farm
Let's go, let's go
Down to Junior's Farm where I wanna lay low
Low life, high life, oh let's go
Take me down to Junior's Farm
Everybody tag along

I took my bag into a grocer's store
The price is higher than the time before
Old man asked me "Why is it more?"
I said "You should have seem me with the poker man
I had a honey and I bet a grand
Just in the nick of time I looked at his hand

Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go
Down to Junior's Farm where I wanna lay low
Low life, high life, oh let's go
Take me down to Junior's Farm

Let's go, let's go
Down to Junior's Farm where I wanna lay low
Low life, high life, oh let's go
Take me down to Junior's Farm
Everybody tag along
Take me down to Junior's Farm

Take me back, take me back
I wanna go there...

If anyone knows what the following verse means, please let me know (Juniors Farm)

At the Houses of Parliament
Ev'rybody's talking 'bout the President
We all chip in for a bag of cement
Ollie Hardy should have had more sense
He bought a gee-gee and he jumped the fence
All for the sake of a couple of pence

song was written in '74, during impeachment against Nixon. Cement alludes to sinking the presidency.

the last half refers to Oliver Hardy, the genius comedian and a skit where he bought a mini horse for jumping

"Ev'rybody's talking 'bout the President
We all chip in for a bag of cement"

I'm pretty sure they plan to do more than sink the presidency. This is a wry suggestion that we just sink Nixon himself, and be done with it. :)

i cant help but think it's about cocaine and rolled 100's- it's the previous verse and the eskimo sea lion ref to snow and snow seal's
i'd guess gee-gee is a gram and homie pinched some for his self.
but then that's the beauty of art and the eye of the beholder- or in this case ear of the listener

Sen. Phillips,
You are a moron. How you managed to read all that into some pretty
straight-forward lyrics is beyond me.Gee-gees are horses, there's no
"I'd guess" about it. There's no mention of snow seals, and where'd you get "rolled 100's" from? The mention of a president?
The president then was Nixon, and the bag of cement was a reference to "cement overshoes" - a means of dumping corpses in a body of water. Geez, don't overthink things, and don't bring everything down to your own limited level.

Just had the 2010 State of the Union speech... and it still applies!

"Ev'rybody's talking 'bout the President
We all chip in for a bag of cement"

Think one bag is enough for a pair of cement shoes?

don't be a tool, Melnitz!
by Ron Ochoa on 6/7/2013 4:18pm
Cement shoes! Nothing else!
by circe801 on 10/19/2013 3:06pm
any ideas on the meaning of the eskimo, snow and sea lion?? the explanation of the cement etc. was spot-on!
by Btherent on 1/2/2014 4:30am
Lets all chip in for a bag of cement
by Cholly on 8/28/2014 11:14pm
For our current narcissist in chief, cement shoes ain't enough. We need to make a cement coffin, with a LOT of 3/4" rebar in it.
