Walkin' After Midnight Lyrics
Artist: Patsy Cline
Album: Walkin' After Midnight
Written by Don Hecht and Alan Block
(First recorded by Patsy Cline November 8, 1956.
Also recorded August 25, 1961.)
I go out walkin' after midnight
Out in the moonlight
Just like we used to do
I'm always walkin' after midnight searchin' for you
I walk for miles along the highway
Well, that's just my way
Of sayin' I love you
I'm always walkin' after midnight, searchin' for you
CHORUS:
I stop to see a weepin' willow
Cryin' on his pillow
Maybe he's cryin' for me
And as the skies turn gloomy
Night winds whisper to me
I'm lonesome as I can be
I go out walkin' after midnight
Out in the moonlight*
Just hopin' you may be
Somewhere a-walkin' after midnight, searchin' for me
REPEAT CHORUS
REPEAT LAST VERSE

I'm 29 and I still love this song
you have great songs
she is dead by plane crash after the song crazy
This song has such a poetic song with such a deep meaning of loneliness and despair. Though it brings out the beauty of her vocals.
i learned this song from all the times driving to my great grandparents home an hour away from where i live with my grandfather when i was about four years old. my great grandparents died when i was eight, and now i sing this song in competitions because it reminds me of them. i'm 16. rip mamaw and ol' papaw.
