by Hannah Dunlap on 4/27/2012 9:03am i love the song i really think it was uplifting during the civil rights movement. i think nina simone was a powerful, brilliant woman that herself was young gifted and black. she was an inspiration to all who were in the civil rights movement. that is why i love th is song and many others from her. by the way if you were wondering i am 11 years old
