My beautiful precious son Phil aged 31 has just passed away. He played Nick's songs on his guitar to perfection. We played Northern Sky whilst his friends...all surfers...carried his coffin. It was truly beautiful and so uplifting for my soul. It gave me great strength. Bless you Phil wherever you are. Love mumxxxx

He was incredible. I like to fancy myself a bit of a writer, but I'm terrible at writing songs. Nick Drake writes the songs I always wanted to. I can't fault him for that, though. They're amazing.

The second track of his second album 'Hazey jane II' is my favourite, its one that acctually makes me real happy! But River man is also great, the orchestral movements are fantastic.

Back in the early 1970s, when DJs could still choose their own music, a Houston radio station played Nick Drake. I immediately went out to find the record. Our local store ordered it and it ended up taking FOREVER because it was an import--something I didn't know at the time. The first listen is still a highlight of my music memory.

I am saddened every time I hear this song to think of the pain Nick Drake must have carried in his heart throughout his lifetime. Such beautiful music that he left behind for all of us. Northern Sky is from one of my favorite movies, Serendipity,,, which gave me hope and faith that one day, the ending in the movie would come true for me. Almost 26 years later it did. It is now 6 years that my Serendipity came true and we found each other and our Northern Sky. LOVE THIS SONG !

Northern Sky was my college roommate Jon's favorite song. He played it for hours and hours. He left this earth too early by his own hand. A remarkable guy defined by an equally remarkable song. I miss him.

I first heard Nick Drake in 2008 when I watched Serendipity for the first time. I love the movie so much, but I must say this song is perfect for the story and the scene. I've watched the movie more than 10 times, and the scene I've lost count but I tear up everytime.

This song is so perfect and beautiful. It never gets old. Somehow Nick Drake was able to capture the most ephemeral emotions...which seems really counterintuitive, but he did it.

Shed a tear listening to this song one day and it dawned on me of how I felt about my life and everything I have. Truly helped me get through tough times. Its a tragedy that he left us so prematurely yet his music stood the test of time like it was recorded yesterday. R.I.P. Nick
