Woman is the nigger of the world Lyrics

Artist: John Lennon
Album: John Lennon Anthology

Woman is the nigger of the world
Yes she is...think about it
Woman is the nigger of the world
Think about it...do something about it

We make her paint her face and dance
If she won't be a slave, we say that she don't love us
If she's real, we say she's trying to be a man
While putting her down, we pretend that she's above us

Woman is the nigger of the world...yes she is
If you don't believe me, take a look at the one you're with
Woman is the slave of the slaves
Ah, yeah...better scream about it

We make her bear and raise our children
And then we leave her flat for being a fat old mother hen
We tell her home is the only place she should be
Then we complain that she's too unworldly to be our friend

Woman is the nigger of the world...yes she is
If you don't believe me, take a look at the one you're with
Woman is the slave to the slaves
Yeah...alright...hit it!

We insult her every day on TV
And wonder why she has no guts or confidence
When she's young we kill her will to be free
While telling her not to be so smart we put her down for being so dumb

Woman is the nigger of the world
Yes she is...if you don't believe me, take a look at the one you're with
Woman is the slave to the slaves
Yes she is...if you believe me, you better scream about it

We make her paint her face and dance
We make her paint her face and dance
We make her paint her face and dance
We make her paint her face and dance
We make her paint her face and dance
We make her paint her face and dance

He's not degrading women, he's pointing out that everyone else is.

I never knew he wrote a song like this. A man who was ahead of his time.

john lennon was a extreme feminist and he wrote this song after he and yoko 'swapped shifts' and he became the stay at home wife... he is supporting women.! and sam... shut up.!
by bigwave on 11/11/2009 9:31pm
Sam's right......I've never 'made' a woman do anything, much less paint her face and dance......feminist are bigots too, just a different kind

John Lennon was right about what he was saying when he wrote it and the song still applies today. Inspite of some progress women still have to paint their faces and not be too smart, too fat, too thin or too dumb to suceed.

John Lennon was a feminist and supported women's rights. He was a good man and an amazing songwriter. I strongly support women's rights... So "big wave" and Sam, that may be why you're probably still a virgin and forty years old.

Feminists, like John Lennon, are strong supporters of women's rights. That's not idiocracy or whatever asses like you call it, it's what should have been done once America became itS own country. Women have it harder than we do as men. And I appreciate my wife because she is a strong woman and I love her.don't hate feminists, hate those who hold progress back.

I agree with supernova. But I never treated a woman badly. And never will.

Here's more John Lennon lyrics just for Sam and Bigwave (your name pretty well says it all..)
You can shine your shoes and wear a suit
You can comb your hair and look quite cute
You can hide your face behind a smile
One thing you can't hide
Is when you're crippled inside.
