Always In My Heart Lyrics

Artist: Glenn Miller
Album: Always In My Heart

Always In My Heart
Glenn Miller
Written by Kim Gannon and Ernesto Lecuona.

As recorded by the Glenn Miller Orchestra on January 8th 1942 with Ray Eberle.

You are always in my heart
Even though you're far away
I can hear the music of
The song of love
I sang with you
You are always in my heart
And when skies above are grey
I remember that you care
And then and there
The sun breaks through

Just before I go to sleep
There's a rendezvous I keep
And a dream I always meet
Helps me forget we're far apart
I don't know exactly when, dear,
But I'm sure we'll meet again, dear,
And my darling, till we do
You are always in my heart!

Thank you very much. The tune, title and the fist couple of lines popped into my head this afternoon. I found this site and for a few minutes I am 14 years old!

I have this song on my mind and couldn't remember who sang it, so thank you for info. Did anyone else record this?

a movie with the same title came out in 1946 or 1947. The actress was Gloria (something)and she sang the song. But it is only now I learn that it's a Glenn Miller song.

I remember going to a movie and sat through it two times. I was a second grader at that time. The title of the movie was Always In My Heart. I don't remember the name of lead actor who portrayed a piano tuner and the actress who played the daughter. The piano tuner was let out of prison. He wrote the song I believe before going into prison. Anyway the piano tuner plays that song and his daughter plays and sings that song. It was a beautiful movie that I will always remember. I am now 74 years old. It was a very long time ago.

This was the song my parents fell in love by in 1942. The same time my dad shipped off for flight training in the Army Air Corps during WWII.
Now I know why my mom had it sung at my dad's funeral in 1976. They are both gone now, but I'm sure are still listening to that song together!

by gloriapassmore@sbcglobal.net on 2/21/2009 7:52am
I also remember the song Always in My Heart and the movie about the piano tuner. How do I find out who played in the movie? I thought it was John Huston but I haven't come across anything like it in researching his movies.
by Arthur on 3/16/2009 12:10pm
It was Walter Huston, not John!

Help! I need this song very badly for our mother's forthcoming 75th birthday. Does anyone have an MP3 to share, or maybe let me know where/how I can get one. Appreciate any help. Thanks!

Glenn Miller may have written the English lyrics of this music, But it's Ernesto Lecuona who originally composed it. Why is this not mentioned?

Glenn Miller may have written the English lyrics of this music, But it's Ernesto Lecuona who originally composed the music. Why is this not mentioned? I don't know who wrote the Spanish lyrics, maybe a Cuban in the know might want to add to this comment, but "Siempre En Mi Corazón" was beautifully sung by Placido Domingo.

It has been many years since I saw this as a child, but I still remember the movie & this beautiful song. Now that my husband is so far away, it came back to me & still moves my heart. I will play it every night until we are together again
by Hector A. Castillo on 12/16/2009 2:39pm
It is, indeed, a beautifull song
written by Ernesto Lecuona who was
born in Cuba in 1895 and who past away in Islas Canarias in 1963.

Lecuona was a prolific composer who left many beautiful songs which, for unknown reasons, have
not been popular in USA, never-
theless these songs, I am sure,
have contributted to immortalize
this man´s name for eternity. I
am a proud collector of his music and although born in Honduras, I
feel like Maestro Lecuona belongs
and it is treassure of the whole world...
although born in Honduras

I am 85 yesr old and heard this song on my car radio the other day. It brought back many warm memories and some sad ones, as it was durning the second world war. I could not remember all the lyrics so thank you for having this information where we could find it.
by Victor Marques on 7/4/2010 5:51pm
These lyrics were not written by Glenn Miller. They were written by Kim Gannon and the music by Ernesto Lecuona from Cuba.
by Dorothy Bethel on 8/17/2010 6:24pm
Well, which is it, lyrics by Kim Gannon, or lyrics by Glenn Miller?
by Victor Marques on 8/24/2010 5:33pm
I'm sure that Kim Gannon is the author of the lyrics (the original ones)as written above. Glenn Miller Orchestra is, perhaps, the best interpretation of this song "Always in my heart" from the film with the same name (1942).

I don't remember seeing the movie; but, I have, for some reason always loved the song. It has now become my sweetheart's and my song. Some things and some people never grow old....he is 77 and I am 74.
by Anzacs1942 on 9/19/2010 6:10am
I too love this song launched in the year of my birth. I have loved it ever since I saw the film with John Huston and Kay Francis. For those interested there are several very good versions of it by Jerry Murad's Harmonicats and can be searched through YouTube.

I'm portuguese and I love this song ever since I saw the movie "Always in my heart". I often sing this song and I even arranged portuguese lyrics.

This is the love song my father loves to sing to my mom. Today, Jan 8th is his birthday which falls exactly on the day the song was recorded by Glenn Miller in 1942.
I just happened to check the lyrics and begun playing on the piano....
Happy Birthday to my father and Happy Birthday to the song, "Always In My heart"!

Many years ago, I saw the movie with Walter Houston and Gloria Warren. When I was in my very early thirties, I designed a ring for someone I loved. Inside the band I had the words, "You are always in my heart" engraved.
We were eventually married.
He died early in life. I still have the ring and made a decision this week to gift the ring to a young man who has survived pancreatic cancer--and witnesses to God's Amazing Grace in his life. I will never forget the movie--and, the song plays in my heart even today.

I will be singing this song at a memorial this June 23,2011 for my "sister" who passed away. She had a beautiful singing voice and this was her favorite song. I hope I don't choke up in the middle of it.
by Dominic Zampano on 7/8/2012 12:44pm
I am sorry at the loss of your sister. The song is from a 1942 movie of the same name. I remember the Italian version - Tu sei sempre nel mio cuore, sung by Enrico Musiani and an English version by Vera Lynn.
by Eli A Ramirez on 8/21/2012 11:15am
This song was one of our favorites together with Maria Elena. My wife passed away three years ago after a blissful marriage of 67 years. I am now 93 and those last lines always bring tears to my eyes: "Darling, till we meet you are always in my heart".
