by peter on 7/31/2012 5:17am My mum was taught this song by a nurse in 1935,when she was in hospital with scarlet fever,aged nine,in joyce green hospital,dartford.The nurse had been to see the film Top hat with her boyfriend and sang to some of the girls in the ward.Mum is still alive,but suffers from dementia,she loves this song and cries if we play or sing it to her.
