I lived in Los Angeles from 1977 through 1992- this song was written in the early 1980's - right around the time this song was written I lived on the West side and was finishing law school and working in Santa Monica - the basket people abounded - and the imagery in this song is so evocative of those times - especially the late October early November times with the brown skies in the afternoon . . ..
