As I'm reading the lyrics, I can see that the meaning is revealed via a contradiction. A contradiction between the first 3 verses where she a pitiful, fearful, prejudiced girl and the latter 2 verses where she is reckless, with no fears and in the bottom line, happy. Something like LIFE happened and it's revealed to her... Just LIVE. If this is the matter, I think these are really beautiful, inspired lyrics.

Whilst I have to admit I quite like this song as a whole, the lyrics are testament to the fact that you don't have to be a talented lyricist to write a catchy hook. Bad poetry has been and will be around for a long time, but, couple it with a catchy tume and theres your Brit award and a couple million quidbucks.
