by Evelman on 10/27/2008 9:11am Saddest part is its a true story, and since the Sullivan Brothers all died on their ship no branch of the military allows family members to serve in the same unit. They mention it briefly in Saving Private Ryan, and theres an old movie about them called The Fighting Sullivans, mid-50s i think, black and white flick.

by Elisa on 10/30/2009 9:54am There is a movie about it from the 50's. It's an amazing movie. I believe that it was also remade. The government will also not take males if they are the only son or they are the only ones considered capable of carrying on the family name.
