This song is about a Russian healer that healed the Czarinas son from a blood disorder. She believed he was amazing at that point. So she let him take some control of russia. He took advantage of that and made a lot of people mad. So someone tried to poisen him. It didn't work. So they shot him until he was dead. I learned this in school and my teacher showed my class this song.

This song is just embarrassing rubbish, as is everything by Boney M - one of the most cringingly contrived "bands" of all time. Dreadful, stupid lyrics, and just beyond awful. ANYONE who thinks this song is even slightly impressive has NO taste in music whatsoever.

Boney M is by FAR one of THE WORST "bands" of the last 70 years - fabricated by German 'entrepreneur' Frank Farian; made up of no-talent singers and delivering the worst in contrived, disposable rubbish 'pop' songs with naff, cheesy arrangements and cringingly embarrassing lyrics. If you can even STOMACH them or their songs, you either have (a) cloth ears (b) very poor comprehension/understanding of the English language (c) no taste in music whatsoever. They released 4 songs which constitute crimes against music. Rasputin, Ma Baker, Rivers Of Babylon and Brown Girl In The Ring - the latter of which is a West Indian children's song - which, ironically, is indicative of the only audience/mentality deserving of this bunch of completely talentless charlatans. If there was every an act worthy of obscurity, this is most definitely it. The fact that there are people who like their music is simply testament to how many no-taste, clueless clowns there are out there...
