by Emily on 3/4/2009 9:44am No, I'm sorry to tell you Jarlaxle; Captain Jack was my Great Uncle and he was not the local drug dealer there. He was one of Billy's good friends from the very beginning and told him that he would title one of his first songs for him. That's not to say that they didn't get high together every once and a while. (Though I don't think that was Uncle Jack's style; he did like to drink though.) Everyone on the island knew Uncle Jack and could vouch for him that he was a really good man.

by katja on 7/10/2009 12:13pm I LOVE this song, it's my favorite Billy Joel song. I think Captain Jack can be liquor or heroine, or anything you get off on that makes you feel better. I know a heroine addict I can't stand, so I'd hate to think of that person when I hear a song I love so much.
