Mandy Lyrics

Artist: Barry Manilow

Mandy

-Artist: Barry Manilow as sung on "Greatest Hits" -Arista A2L 8601
-peak Billboard position # 1 in 1974-75
-Words and Music by Scott English and Richard Kerr

I remember all my life
Rainin' down as cold as ice
Shadows of a man
A face through a window
Cryin' in the night
The night goes into

Mornin', just another day
Happy people pass my way
Lookin' in their eyes
I see a memory
I never realized
How happy you made me, oh Mandy

CHORUS
Well you came and you gave without takin'
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
Well, you kissed me and stopped me from shakin'
And I need you today, oh Mandy

Standin' on the edge of time
Walked away when love was mine
Caught up in a world of uphill climbin'
The tears are in my mind
And nothing is rhymin', oh Mandy

CHORUS

Yesterday's a dream
I face the mornin'
Cryin' on a breeze
The pain is callin', oh Mandy

CHORUS

You came and you gave without takin'
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
You kissed me and stopped me from shakin'
And I need you

I saw Barry perform this song for the first time on American Bandstand. I am not a big fan of Manilow, but it's a great song!

I love this song because I used to sing it all the time to my best friend Mandy, who unfortunately died last week from accidental suffocation abusing nitrous oxide huffing to escape the pain of her 7 year relationship ending.

It took 30 seconds and now I have years of pain and hopelessness.

She was my sister.
My world.
I left this song on her answering machine 1 month ago when she was feeling down to let her know she will always be my baby.

She laughed and cried because it made her so happy to have that kind of love.

I'm lost without her and don't know what the world will be like without her.She was the most insanely loving unique person.

I Love You Mandy.

i love this song because it reminds me of my friend Mandy who has a good heart, we've been good friends in the net. And his stories touches my heart someone close to his heart gave this song to him, she's the one who captured his heart, his first love..but distance kept them apart and they didn't end up...its too late that they realized and have the courage to spoke up what they really felt for each other. Now, they both have their respective families, but the memories lives on.
