Was noted for the most beautiful show girls...for the history lesson part... was of the same era as the Stork Club and the El Morocco...who knows what club Barry was basing this on...lol..great song and once it's in your head...really, really hard to get it out

I'd say it is a very mixed song: the very moody 9th chords of the verses convey the drama, especially in the interlude after the shooting, while the sweet7th chords in the chorus make it sound like a commercial (Barry's specialty) for the nightclub. Really clever to alternate like that.
